  • UPDATE!!

    Good News!

I found a homeless shelter that is willing to accept the books! It wasn't the homeless shelter that I had originally planned to send the books, this shelter is in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I've been having a bit of trouble reaching the one in Plymouth, it seems as if we've been playing phone tag for weeks. Hopefully I can reach them sometime soon and help them out too.

So right now, all I need is a library to help me out, and the Woodstock Library seems like they will probably help. I have to talk to their board the next time they meet at the end of the month. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

  • HELP SUPPORT BOOKS FOR THE HOMELESS!

    Books for the Homeless Foundation

Helping us is easy! Just spread the word around!

    JOIN OUR BLOGRING!

We are in the PERMISSION stage right now. So far, we have contacted local libraries that are willing to give us a helping hand. All we need to do is approve our idea to the board members!

What You Can Do To Help: Donate your new/used books to the Woodstock Public Library. (After we get permission) These books will hopefully go to the homeless shelter in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

Our Goal: Our Goal for the Books for the Homeless Foundation is to raise awareness in the communities about the importance of books and education. Everyone deserves a chance. With the support of local libraries, we wish to come up with enough books so that every person who goes into the Crossroads House Shelter will have a book to take with them, no matter what their age or circumstance is. We hope that we can gain enough support so that we can do this with every homeless shelter in New Hampshire.

About Me: My name is Emily and I'm 16 years old. I plan to go to Plymouth State for graphic design. I am trying to make this program because I want to do my part in the community and help out. I believe that everyone should have a chance at learning, no matter how much money you have, where you live, or what you do for a living. I hope that the books I can donate to these people will help make a difference in their lives. I am not doing this project for any kind of class, I am doing it on my own. I would appreciate any support I can get, I really want this to work! THANK YOU!
